2024-2025 Team Tryout Information
The McMillen High School Dazzlers Drill Team will be hosting tryouts

February 26-29, 2024.
Tryout paperwork is due by 4:30 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
Our mandatory tryout information meeting will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 at 7:00 pm.

McMillen Dazzlers Team Tryout Routine 2018

 Technical Skills that have been featured in previous tryout routines include:

• Battements (brush kicks)
• Calypso (brush leap with back leg in attitude)-usually moving forward or to the side
• High kicks in a kick line – exercise, fan, jump, straight
• Hold/extension
• Jete’ developpe’ from a chasse’ or two steps, moving in any direction
• One to two eight-counts of improvisation
• Pirouette en dedans (inside) – single/double
• Pirouette en dehors (outside) – double
• Quick, precise movements
• Right split from a standing or kneeling position
• Russian (leap in second) – moving sideways
• Soutenu turn
• Stationary jete (leap)
• Surprise/corner leap
• Tilt kick
• Tilt jump – moving forward or to the back from a chasse’ or two steps
• Tour en l’air – single
• Two chaine’ turns (one on releve’, one in plie’) moving forward to a leap in second (also known as a Disc)
